Dear Fellow Laborer:
In a few days, we will be in the midst of our International Holy Convocation. I need your support as we together will serve our Presiding Bishop, Bishop Charles E. Blake. Our Winter Academy willl be held at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Wednesday, November 4th and will end on Saturday, November 7th. On-site registration will begin Tuesday, November 3rd at 9am and will be open each day thereafter. You only need to register once per year.
Make every effort to attend our 2009 Adjutancy Celebration Luncheon. This event is for us by us, and will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 12:00 NOON at the Downtown Marriott – Heritage Room. The cost for this event is $60.00 and I am encouraging you to attend. You may purchase your tickets for this event online, at www.cogicadjutancy.org or when you arrive at the Convocation.
Adjutant Overseers, you will be needed now more than ever. On Tuesday, November 3rd, the opening ceremony of our convocation will take place in Mason Temple. We will need roughly 70 to 80 adjutants dressed in the “Class B” attire to assist me with the annointing service. Please call Overseer Robert L. Grimes, Jr. at 813-748-2532 for further instructions.
There has been a tremendous responsibility placed on the adjutancy this year!! I need all of the overseers and adjutants to work directly with me, Senior Deputy Adjutant General Clarence Lewis, III, and Senior Deputy Adjutant General Robert L. Perry, Jr., in every aspect of our work. We will give you further instructions in the Academy as it relates to our service at the venues of Mason Temple, the Cook Convention Center and the Fed Ex Forum. Let us come ready to work!!
In closing, let us pray for the strength of our leader, and pray that each of us will be with one accord as we execute our assignments thereby relieving our leader of any stress while making the 102nd Annual Convocation a success. I look forward to seeing your face, and serving with you!
A Servant of Jesus Christ,
Bishop Matthew Williams

Supt. Robert L.
Perry, Jr. |
First of all, let me again congratulate two individuals who have served the adjutancy for many years and both of them were recently elevated to the position of Senior Deputy Adjutant General of the Adjutancy, Pastor Clarence Lewis, III, and Superintendent Robert L. Perry, Jr. At the beginning of 2009, I recommended them to serve in this capacity and it was approved by our distinguished leader, Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake. They will both be taking an active role in the Summer Academy next week.
Secondly, I am thanking you for taking the time to register for the 2009 Adjutancy Academy which will be held at the AIM Convention in Tampa, Florida, June 29-July 3, 2009. I would like to congratulate our Registration Staff for making the 2009 registration process convenient and easy. The Academy will convene each day at 9 am beginning Tuesday, June 30 - Friday, July 4, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel . On-site registration will begin Monday evening, June 29th.
And lastly, the theme for this year’s conference will be, “All Things, All People, All Godly Strategies: Equipping for the Ministry of Servanthood”.
Our national executive committee has helped me to prepare a power-packed training which will help us to take the adjutancy to a higher calling of service in the years ahead. This year we have added a new dimension to the Corps by creating the Youth Division of the Adjutancy. These youth will be trained to serve in the capacity of Acolytes and Vergers. They are the future of our church and they will play an active role within our ranks.
I do look forward to you coming a participating in the sessions less than a week away. Let us continue to be prayerful as we come together to serve and sanctify the leader in the eyes of the people.
A Servant of Jesus Christ, I am,
Bishop Matthew Williams
Adjutant General
Church of God in Christ, Inc.
